Join Our Group Hike to Kinder Scout and Kinder Downfall! Get ready for an exciting group hike to Kinder Scout and Kinder Downfall! Here’s everything you need to know: • Date & Time: Saturday 26th April. Meet at KH Fitness by 7:10 AM to leave as a group at 7:15 AM. Alternatively, meet us at the start point (Bowden Bridge Car Park - Peak District NP), where we’ll begin the hike at 9:00 AM. Route Details: This 13.7 km hike takes us through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Peak District. With an elevation gain of 586 m, it’s classed as a moderately challenging route. Expect to complete the hike in around 3.5 to 3 hours 45 minutes at a steady pace. Along the way, we’ll pass Kinder Reservoir and make our way to Kinder Downfall, a spectacular waterfall that’s especially impressive after rainfall. There’s also the option to extend the route to the summit of Kinder Scout, known as the “Peak of Peaks” for its stunning panoramic views. If the weather is on our side, this could be well worth the extra effort, though it will add some distance to our hike—something we’ll decide as a group on the day. What to Bring: • Proper hiking boots. • Snacks and plenty of water. • Weather-appropriate clothing. After completing the hike, we’ll see who wants to go for a drink and go to a pub on the route home! Important Notes: • If you’re meeting us at hike's starting point, be sure to arrive by 9:00 AM. Latecomers may miss the group. • The drive from KH Fitness to the start point takes around 1 hour 40 minutes. KH Fitness Group Hike Policy Booking & Cancellations • This is a free event, and booking is open at any time through the KH Fitness app. • You can cancel at any time if you can no longer attend—just update your booking in the app. • Friends, family, and dogs are welcome to join! If you’re bringing someone along, please inform Kieran in advance. Health & Safety • By joining the hike, you acknowledge that outdoor activities come with inherent risks, including uneven terrain, unpredictable weather, and physical exertion. You take part at your own risk. • Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear (hiking boots recommended) and bring enough water, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing. • If you have any medical conditions that may affect you during the hike, let Kieran know beforehand and ensure you have any necessary medication with you. • Stick with the group—if you need to leave early or take an alternative route, inform someone before doing so. Personal Responsibility • Everyone is responsible for their own safety and well-being during the hike. KH Fitness is not liable for any injuries, lost items, or unforeseen incidents. • This is a social, non-competitive hike—go at a pace you’re comfortable with, and let someone know if you need a break. • Respect the environment—stick to marked paths where possible, take all litter with you, and be mindful of wildlife and other walkers.
